Speculation is growing about a possible extension of the ceasefire until March 1, while the Israeli army continues its raids and military operations in certain areas of southern Lebanon, amid violations of the ceasefire agreement on both sides.
On Friday morning, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Tabna region in Baissariyeh, while Israeli forces conducted demolition operations in Kfar Kila. Additionally, an explosion was heard in Tayr Harfa (Tyre). According to unconfirmed reports, munitions left behind by the Israeli army in a house in the same village exploded on Friday morning, killing four members of the same family. The target of this operation is believed to be Abbas Haidar, a Hezbollah official.
On Thursday, Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on regions in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley.
According to the Israeli army, Hezbollah positions were targeted after the group allegedly violated the ceasefire by attempting to smuggle illegal weapons across the Syrian border. The Israeli military claims Hezbollah is trying to establish military infrastructure in the targeted areas and build new military sites.
The Israeli army’s Chief of Staff stated that the airstrikes within Lebanese territory were meant as a clear message to all Lebanese authorities. Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said on Thursday night that the strikes were carried out precisely, based on military intelligence, targeting two Hezbollah military positions that contained weapons.

He added that the Israeli army would continue to carry out operations against any entity that threatens Israel’s security and to prevent Hezbollah from repositioning itself.
The airstrikes targeted the eastern mountain range and areas including Nabi Shit, Janta, Yahfoufa and the heights of Khraybe in Baalbeck. Four additional strikes hit Sraj, also in Baalbeck. Meanwhile, reconnaissance aircraft flew at low altitudes over Beirut and several other Lebanese regions.
