Israeli drones were spotted flying continuously over Beirut and its southern suburbs on Monday, as tensions remain high concerning the fragile November 27 ceasefire, which was extended until February 18.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Army announced it would conduct an all-day military exercise in the Upper Galilee, an area still experiencing intermittent clashes following months of conflict with the pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In a statement reported by the Times of Israel, the Israeli military warned civilians about heightened military activity in the area, but reassured that “there is no concern about the security situation.”

The announcement came just a day after Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz toured military positions along the Lebanese border on Sunday, warning that Israel “could take drastic measures,” if Hezbollah drone attacks do not cease.

On the Lebanese side, the Lebanese Army (LAF) issued a statement confirming that its units would be detonating unexploded ordnance in Ras Baalbeck (Beqaa) and Wadi Khaled (Akkar). The LAF also announced the detonation of an unexploded aerial bomb between 12:00 and 18:00 PM in Ainata (Bint Jbeil).

In a related context, the Norwegian Demining Company in Lebanon announced a controlled detonation of Israeli remnants in Shebriha near Tyre, scheduled between 10:00 and 11:00 AM.
