Trump Unveils his First Measures During his Inauguration Speech

During his inauguration, Donald Trump announced his intention to take several actions.

'America's decline is over'

President Donald Trump declared Monday that America's "decline is over," framing his return to power as a rejection of the "radical and corrupt" establishment he claimed defined Joe Biden's presidency.

"My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and indeed their freedom," Trump said. "From this moment on, America's decline is over."

Sexual Identity

The official policy of the United States will recognize only "two sexes, male and female," stated the U.S. president.

"Starting today, the official policy of the U.S. government will be to say that there are only two sexes, male and female," said Donald Trump, whose team promised several executive orders to stop federal aid for transgender individuals.

"National energy emergency"

The Republican leader also said his administration would declare a "national energy emergency" to significantly expand drilling in the world's top oil and gas producer and scrap upcoming stringent pollution standards for cars and trucks, which he has derided as an "electric vehicle mandate."

"The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices, and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will 'Drill, baby, drill!'" Trump said.

Climate

President Donald Trump's administration on Monday announced the United States' intention to withdraw from the Paris climate accord for a second time, a defiant rejection of global efforts to combat planetary warming as catastrophic weather events intensify worldwide.

"President Trump will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord," the White House said in a statement shortly after the Republican was sworn into office, without providing a specific timeline.

It would take a year to leave the agreement after submitting a formal notice to the United Nations framework that underpins global climate negotiations.

“Tax foreign countries”

US President Donald Trump vowed to embrace trade wars Monday, promising tariffs and taxes on other countries in a nationalistic inaugural address after being sworn in as the 47th president.

"I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families," he said at the US Capitol.

"Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens," Trump added.

National emergency

Donald Trump will issue a raft of executive orders aimed at reshaping how the United States deals with citizenship and immigration, he said on Monday minutes after his inauguration.

The 47th president will set to work almost immediately with a series of presidential decrees intended to drastically reduce the number of migrants entering the country.

"First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border," Trump said.

"All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.

"I will send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of our country," he said.

'Taking back' Panama Canal

President Donald Trump vowed that the United States would be "taking back" the Panama Canal.

"Above all, China is operating the Panama Canal, and we didn't give it to China, we gave it to Panama. And we're taking it back," Trump said after being sworn in inside the US Capitol.

Trump said that the United States has been "treated very badly from this foolish gift that should have never been made."

"The purpose of our deal and the spirit of our treaty has been totally violated. American ships are being severely overcharged and not treated fairly in any way, shape or form, and that includes the United States Navy," he said.

'Plant the Stars and Stripes' on Mars

US President vowed that the world's biggest economy would again see itself as "a growing nation" that expands its territory, adding that the country would plant its flag on Mars.

"We will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the Stars and Stripes on the planet Mars," he said in his inauguration speech at the US Capitol in Washington.

A Venezuelan gang designated as a "terrorist group"

Trump will also designate a Venezuelan criminal gang as "global terrorists," an incoming administration official told reporters, as part of the US president-elect's fight against illegal immigration into the United States.

Citing Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua and Salvadoran gang MS-13, the official said the incoming administration would designate the criminal cartels and other entities as both multinational organizations and global terrorists.
