French director Jacques Audiard's Emilia Perez and Brady Corbet's The Brutalist were the big winners of the 82nd Golden Globes. The event, which was held on Sunday, celebrated groundbreaking films and series from around the world, recognizing cinematic diversity and excellence.

At the 82nd Golden Globes, Emilia Perez, Audiard's Mexico-set narco-musical, emerged as the night's standout, taking home four awards, including Best Comedy or Musical Film, Best Non-English Language Film, Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana, and Best Original Song for El Mal by Camille and Clément Ducol. Audiard, thrilled by his film's success, remarked, "When there are so many nominations, there's always the risk of disappointment... Tonight, it’s very pleasant, it’s very good." He also expressed joy over Saldana's win, saying, "I’m so happy that Zoe received an award."

Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist, an epic immigrant drama, won Best Drama Film, Best Director and Best Actor for Adrien Brody, who played a Hungarian Holocaust survivor. Corbet reflected on the recognition of his challenging film: "No one was asking for a three-and-a-half-hour film about a mid-century designer... but it works." Brody, moved by the parallels to his family's history, shared, "This story... is very reminiscent of my mother's, and my ancestral journey of fleeing the horrors of war and coming to this great country."

Demi Moore celebrated a late-career triumph with her win for Best Actress in a Comedy for The Substance. Reflecting on the societal pressures the film tackles, Moore stated, "I bought in, and I believed [I was a popcorn actress], and that corroded me over time... But the universe told me, 'You're not done.'"

Other highlights included Brazilian actress Fernanda Torres, who won Best Actress in a Drama for I'm Still Here, a moving tale of a family torn apart by Brazil’s military dictatorship in the 1970s. The night also saw Flow take Best Animated Feature for its surreal, dialogue-free odyssey.
