In the presence of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun and several officers, a ceremony was held at the Army Command headquarters to honor the families of the soldiers who were martyred on the field of honor in the south during the recent Israeli war on Lebanon.

The Army Commander expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and praised their sacrifices which helped save Lebanon during a difficult period. He emphasized that sacrifice is both the destiny and duty of military personnel.

“The sacrifices of our martyrs are a badge of honor on our chests. The military institution will never forget its martyrs, who gave their lives in defense of the homeland and its security, from the army’s establishment to this day,” he said.

“Your martyred sons are our sons, and the dignity of their families is a core responsibility of the army. Their pure blood will not be shed in vain. It is our duty to preserve their legacy and sacrifices,” General Aoun added.

He concluded by expressing his hope that the holiday season would bring security, peace and reassurance to the Lebanese people.
