Israeli ceasefire violations continue in southern Lebanon, in parallel with a joint redeployment of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL.
A joint Lebanese army and UNIFIL patrol entered the village of Chamaa, following the withdrawal of the Israeli army. The army thus returned to the military position it had vacated after the start of the Israeli ground incursion on September 30.
In this context, the Israeli army's Arabic-speaking spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, issued a renewed warning to southern Lebanon residents against returning to their homes or moving southward beyond the designated line of villages and their surrounding areas, stating that this restriction remains in effect "until further notice." He cited 61 localities south of a now-familiar line drawn on the map of Lebanon.
In an almost daily posting on the X platform, Adraee again explained that the Israeli army “has no intention of targeting civilians at this stage”, stressing that “anyone who decides to return to the villages and areas south of this line runs a great risk”.
In a further development, the Israeli army opened fire on Charbel Shoufany, a resident of Rmeish, as he was heading to his farm on the outskirts of the village. Shoufany sustained an injury to his left shoulder and was transported to Tibnine Governmental Hospital for treatment.
