The Syrian Foreign Ministry suspended consular services at its embassy in Beirut until further notice, following reports that it had issued forged passports held by Rifaat al-Assad's granddaughter and her mother.

Security sources confirmed to Houna Loubnan that Lebanese General Security is still holding Assad's granddaughter and daughter-in-law under the orders of Public Prosecutor Judge Jamal al-Hajjar. The sources clarified that the two detainees have no other criminal records, pending confirmation that they are not wanted by Syrian authorities.

Meanwhile, Rifaat al-Assad, the uncle of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, traveled to Dubai on Tuesday via a private plane from Beirut, accompanied by two aides. Although he is currently facing trial in Switzerland, Lebanese authorities have not received an Interpol warrant for his arrest, nor have they been provided with any lists from Syria concerning former regime figures.
