After two months of intense fighting, a ceasefire has been put into effect. As the region begins to recover, our special correspondent Lyne Sammouri is on the ground, traveling through the southern suburbs of Beirut to report on the first hours and days following this fragile truce.

Her journey started in Ghobeiri and Haret Hreik, an area that bore the brunt of the conflict, before moving on to the surrounding neighborhoods that were heavily affected by the bombings. Along the way, Lyne Sammouri reports on the widespread destruction, the accounts of local residents, and the tense atmosphere that continues to hang over this war-torn area.

Follow her reports and discover, through our videos, the first days of the ceasefire.
