While the Israelis reported on Sunday morning that the Israeli ground operation in Khiam in the south of the country was “gathering pace,” a precarious calm was observed in Beirut's southern suburbs. However, at 9 AM, the mayor of Bourj al-Barajneh, Atef Hassan Mansour, issued an urgent evacuation call to residents.

In a statement, he said, “We ask you to stay away from areas likely to be targeted by the Israeli enemy, in order to preserve your safety and that of your loved ones.”

He added, “What happened during the raids on Haret Hreik and Roueiss resulted in a number of injuries and cases of poisoning and suffocation, after which a number of residents had to be hospitalized and are currently being treated.” According to the mayor, this calls for “great responsibility and precautions” to avoid being targeted.

In addition, the latest report from the Ministry of Health on Saturday's dawn strike on Basta el-Faouqa in the heart of Beirut left “22 people dead and 66 wounded.”

Israel: 60 Missiles Fired Since This Morning and One Person Injured

Since this morning, continuous firing from Lebanon towards northern and central Israel has continued.

“A 50-year-old woman was wounded by shrapnel after a missile fell on Ma'alot in the western Galilee,” reports Israeli channel 13. It adds that “25 missiles were launched” towards this locality. It also had a direct impact on a factory.

Five long-range rockets were also fired at the capital Tel Aviv. According to Israeli army radio, “hundreds of thousands of Israelis then fled to shelters after sirens were activated.” Israeli air defenses said they had “intercepted 4 rockets from Lebanon,” while another fell.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Hezbollah had launched “60 missiles since this morning and intensively targeted Metoula, causing serious damage to the settlement.” Two missiles also fell into the sea near the port of Haifa without activating any sirens.

Rockets also targeted several settlements, including Nahariya and Karyut, without activating the alarm sirens, as well as Safad and Kiryat Shmona and the surrounding area, although no casualties were reported.

According to Israeli media, “10 missiles” were fired during the night from Lebanon towards Kiryat Shmona, some of which were intercepted and others landed in the area.
