Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling have intensified across southern Lebanon on Monday, causing several casualties.
An air raid on the city of Tyre killed Hezbollah commander Hajj Qassem Wehbe, the head of the Liaison Unit in the Tyre area.
Israeli forces struck the Islamic Health Authority center in Arabsalim, killing six paramedics, and targeted Tyre’s Water Company, killing two and injuring two others. The National News Agency (NNA) reported that the civil defense team from the Islamic Message Scouts Association is working to remove rubble in search of missing persons.
The Tyre Municipality called for “rationing water consumption until repairs can be made to the damages caused by the enemy.”
In Nabatiyeh, renewed raids hit residential neighborhoods, further damaging buildings and injuring civilians, including journalist Rana Gouni.
Additionally, Israeli warplanes launched violent attacks on a commercial and residential complex near the Kafr Rumman roundabout, which included shops, offices, and cafes, destroying it completely.
Heavy artillery shelling, including 155 mm shells and phosphorus munitions, targeted the towns of al-Mansouri and Buyut al-Siyad. According to the NNA, the Israeli Army also used internationally banned cluster bombs, shelling the Litani River’s course near the town of Balat.
Beirut’s Southern Suburb
In Beirut’s southern suburb, a cautious calm has prevailed since last night, with no reports of drone activity in recent hours.
However, the Mayor of Burj al-Barajneh, Atef Hassan Mansour, issued a warning about the potential collapse of damaged buildings due to Israeli bombardment and heavy rain. “Earlier this morning, a multi-story building on Khadija Hamdar Street collapsed,” he stated.
Hezbollah
Hezbollah announced targeting the Hosen settlement with rockets for the first time on Monday. He also claimed several attacks, including one with a squadron of kamikaze drones on a gathering of Israeli Army forces east of the town of Khiam for the fourth time. It also targeted a gathering of Israeli forces in the Kiryat Shmona settlement, shelled the Gornot HaGalil settlement, and struck the Sharaga base, as well as the newly established headquarters for the Western Brigade command in the Yaara barracks.
The Israeli Army reported that 40 rockets were launched from Lebanon toward the Western Galilee.
Also Monday, the Ministry of Public Health's Emergency Operations Center announced in a statement that the final toll of the Israeli raids on Ras el-Nabeh and Mar Elias in the heart of Beirut on Sunday left seven people dead and sixteen wounded, and three people dead and twenty-nine wounded respectively.
