In a Lebanon ravaged by war, the driver Rafic Eid establishes himself as a rising star in off-road rallying. His recent performance at the Jordan Rally, where he mounted the podium twice, prepares him for the famous Dakar Rally scheduled for January 2025.
The Lebanese driver Rafic Eid once again demonstrated his exceptional talent during the Jordan Rally, which represents the seventh round of the World Championship for Off-Road Rallies "Baja". Riding his GasGas 450 Rally Replica motorcycle, Eid delivered a remarkable performance by standing on the podium twice, showcasing his endurance and strategy.
A High-Flying Performance
The Jordan Rally, contested over three days, was a true challenge for the 28 participating drivers. The competition covered a total distance of 775.31 km, of which 566.46 km were dedicated to timed special stages. Rafic Eid stood out by first securing third place in the overall standings, an impressive result that highlights his determination. He then claimed first place in the veterans' category, marking a key milestone in his season.
A Rise Before Dakar
These consolidated results make Rafic Eid one of Lebanon's top representatives on the international stage. With only six weeks to go before the legendary Dakar Rally scheduled from January 3 to 17, 2025, in Saudi Arabia, Eid is actively preparing for this iconic competition. After celebrating his successes in Jordan, he stated: "I am extremely satisfied with my performance in this rally. I fought for the top positions and secured the title in my category while finishing third overall. My level improves with each race, and it motivates me even more for the upcoming challenges."
Next Stop in Dubai
Staying true to his fast-paced rhythm, Rafic Eid flew directly to Dubai to participate in the eighth and final round of the Baja World Championship, scheduled for this weekend. This final rendezvous is an opportunity for him to consolidate his position in the overall standings while fine-tuning his preparations for Dakar. "My next stop is the Dubai Rally, where I plan to give my best. Then I will dedicate myself to intense preparation for Dakar. It’s a dream that I am ready to realize," he added.
