3. S. Gemayel Meets Hochstein in Washington

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel, who is currently on a visit to Washington as part of a tour of Western capitals, met on Wednesday with the American special envoy to Lebanon, Amos Hochstein.

Hochstein is still working on a deal for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and may travel to Tel Aviv and Beirut to this end. 

During the meeting, Gemayel stressed the need for “Lebanon's national interests, mainly the issues of sovereignty and the restoration of Lebanese official free decision-making, to be an essential part of any future settlement.”

Samy Gemayel will be holding several meetings with American officials in Washington.
