A new wave of Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon and the Beqaa region on Saturday evening, causing heavy casualties and extensive damage. The total number of casualties since the start of the Israel-Hezbollah war has reached 3,136 killed and 13,979 wounded, according to the latest report issued by the Ministry of Health, on November 8, 2024.

Southern Lebanon

In Tyre, airstrikes targeted buildings on Safiaddine Street and al-Madrasa al-Diniya Street, leading to seven deaths and 46 injuries, according to the Ministry of Health. Civil Defense teams and the Lebanese Army continued to recover bodies, including three in Jbal al-Botm. Israeli warplanes also struck the outskirts of the Qasmiyeh camp in Tyre and a residence in the town of Ansar.

Three paramedics were injured as a result of an airstrike targeting an Al-Risala Health Ambulance Association station in Ain Baal.

Further Israeli airstrikes hit Nabatieh, Khiam, Debbin, Kfar Dunin and surrounding areas near Tyre. In Majdel Zoun, Israeli drones targeted a motorcycle near a school, killing one person.

Civil Defense teams, alongside Islamic health organizations, responded to the scene to aid casualties. Additionally, a civilian in Rmeish was injured while harvesting olives on the town’s outskirts.

Beqaa Valley

Two Israeli airstrikes targeted the illegal Jarmash crossing in Hermel on the border between Lebanon and Syria.

Six fatalities were reported in the Baalbeck-Hermel district following an Israeli airstrike on Hadath Baalbeck. Preliminary reports suggest another airstrike in the nearby town of al-Kneisseh killed 12 members of the al-Zaiter family.

Strikes in the Baalbeck area also targeted Qsarnaba and residential areas around Jammaliya.

The Ministry of Public Health announced that 20 people were killed in Baalbeck-Hermel and 14 were injured.

Beirut’s southern suburbs

At dawn on Saturday, Israeli airstrikes hit the southern suburbs of Beirut with 14 strikes in areas including Hadath, Burj al-Barajneh, Haret Hreik and Hay al-Jamous.

One strike hit near the Lebanese University in Hadath.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that “overnight, Israeli Air Force planes, guided by precise intelligence, targeted command centers, weapons production sites, and other Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Beirut.”

Hezbollah operations

Hezbollah launched a rocket barrage at the Rosh Pina settlement in northern Israel as well as the Malam military factory south of Tel Aviv. Hezbollah also reported attacks on Israeli military positions, including the Zevulun facility, the city of Safed, Kiryat Shmona and several military sites along the northern Israeli border.

The group claimed it downed an Israeli Hermes 450 drone over Deir Siryan, which was subsequently targeted by Israeli aircraft.

Northern Israel

Sirens sounded across northern Israeli towns, including Kiryat Shmona, Upper Galilee and Safed, in response to the rocket attacks from Hezbollah.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that five rockets were launched from Lebanon toward Safed, some of which were intercepted, while others landed in open areas.
