A senior Hamas source told the London-based al-Araby al-Jadeed website on Monday that the recent talks in Cairo between Hamas and Fatah delegations ended with an agreement to form an administrative committee for Gaza.
According to the website, this committee is set to manage civil and humanitarian affairs in Gaza after the war ends.
This comes as Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo to discuss developments in Gaza and ceasefire talks.
A Hamas delegation met with officials from the Egyptian Intelligence Service yesterday in Cairo to discuss a proposed ceasefire and prisoner exchange with Israel.
Reportedly, the Hamas delegation includes new leadership figures who have never participated in such meetings before, although their names were not revealed.
