The Lebanese club, Nejmeh, suffered a defeat against East Bengal of India, losing 2-3 in their last match of the group stage of the AFC Challenge League 2024-2025, which took place at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphou.

The match began with offensive pressure from East Bengal, who opened the scoring with an own goal by Baba Moussa in the 8th minute. This goal gave confidence to the Indian team, which doubled their lead with a second goal from Dimitrios Diamantakos in the 15th minute.

Nejmeh reacted by reducing the deficit with a goal from Collins Oubari, who scored in the 18th minute following a quick counter-attack. The Lebanese team continued to fight and managed to equalize in the 43rd minute with a well-executed free kick by Hussein Monzer.

In the second half, the Lebanese club showed better control of the game, but East Bengal regained the advantage in the 77th minute with a penalty converted by Diamantakos. Despite several changes made by Nejmeh's coach, Abbas Atwi, the score remained unchanged until the end of the match.

With this victory, East Bengal finished first in the group with 7 points, ahead of Nejmeh (6 points), while awaiting the results of other groups to hope for qualification for the Lebanese club.
