Beneficiaries of Central Bank (BDL) circulars 158 and 166 will receive two monthly payments for November instead of one, as announced by This is Beirut on Wednesday.

Due to the “urgent circumstances” that Lebanon is currently experiencing, the BDL Central Council requested in a statement released on Thursday that banks provide two monthly installments in November to recipients of these circulars, which cover extraordinary bank withdrawals of fresh dollars.

Thus, depositors benefiting from circular 158 will receive 800 dollars in cash in November, instead of 400, while those benefiting from circular 166 will receive 300 dollars instead of 150.

For similar reasons, the BDL had already modified circulars 158 and 166 in October, and only once, to allow eligible depositors to receive three monthly payments at once for the month of October, instead of just one.
