At just three years old, Laurent Schwarz from Neubeuern, Bavaria, has captivated the international public, becoming an Instagram star with 90,000 followers thanks to his unique works, which have been sold at astonishing prices.

Laurent Schwarz, only three, has quickly risen to fame on Instagram and within the art world, despite still being in diapers. Some media outlets have already dubbed him the "mini-Picasso."

In a corner of their family home in Neubeuern, Bavaria, his parents have set up a small studio where this young German talent paints large abstract and colorful canvases. He uses brushes, rollers, and sometimes just his paint-covered fingers. His passion for painting began nearly a year ago during a family holiday at a hotel equipped with an art studio.

"When we came back, all he wanted to do was paint, paint, paint," his mother, Lisa Schwarz, 33, shares. His parents then set up a home studio and purchased all the necessary materials so Laurent could create his art freely.

They also created an Instagram account to share photos and videos of his work, quickly gaining 10,000 followers. “It was simply a way to share his creations with family and friends,” Lisa explains. However, media attention and social media hype quickly drew the interest of galleries.

Today, Laurent has amassed 90,000 followers. During a recent auction held in Neubeuern, international buyers bid hundreds of thousands of euros for his works. Among the interested parties were a famous American actor and members of royal families. “It was unbelievable,” Lisa recalls.

Laurent is not the first child to show an early talent for painting. He follows in the footsteps of other young prodigies who have captivated public attention. In 2022, Andres Valencia, a ten-year-old American, sold Picasso-inspired works for similarly impressive sums. Before him, Alexandra Nechita, known as the "little Picasso," made waves in the 1990s.

Laurent’s parents are both surprised and moved by their son’s success. They assure that the money earned is being saved in an account in Laurent’s name, which he can use as he wishes when he grows up. “He could study art, buy a car, play an instrument, or take up football... It’s up to him to decide,” says his father, Philippe Schwarz, 43. “What matters most to us is his happiness,” he concludes.
