A morning raid on a car on the Sahel Alma highway in Jounieh left two dead. The car, a CRV, was registered under the name of Khadijeh Ahmad Ghazal, from Bourj Chemali in Tyre.
A drone launched the first missile at the vehicle, which was heading toward Beirut. The two passengers managed to escape the initial strike, abandoning the car by the roadside and running into an open field before being hit by a second missile. The identities of the victims remain unclear.
Residents in the area heard three explosions shortly before 9:30 AM. Initially, conflicting reports circulated regarding the cause of the blasts. Some suggested they were from gas canisters at a local bakery, which had its windows blown out, before the Ministry of Health confirmed the raid targeted the vehicle.
Moreover, in the latest field development, an Israeli drone strike on Saturday morning targeted a residential apartment in the Qattaya building in Chtaura, killing Ahmad Abu Zaid from Hazarta and injuring his wife and son.
Israeli bombardments hit the Khiam plain since 8:45, a building on the Zefta-Nabatiyeh highway, and areas between Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa and Dabsha. Three were injured in an airstrike on Khraibeh, and Kfarjouz was also hit.
In Baalbeck, a house in al-Khader was destroyed with no casualties.
An airstrike on a building in Jal al-Bahr near the Mashreq Medical Center in the Saheli Complex in Tyre injured six people, one critically.
Israeli attacks on villages in Tyre and Bint Jbeil continued through the night and into the morning. Airstrikes hit a house in Shama, severely damaging the shrine of Prophet Shimon al-Safa. Other strikes targeted al-Majadel, Majdal Zoun, and the outskirts of Kafra, Deir Amess, and Aitit. The industrial city also suffered massive destruction to buildings and properties.
From the Israeli side, the Israeli media reported military censorship over news of targeting Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's home in Caesarea with a drone launched from Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah intensified on Saturday its strikes against the northern part of Israël.
Israeli emergency services said a man was killed by shrapnel near the port city of Acre on Saturday after a barrage of rockets was fired from Lebanon into northern Israel.
"Paramedics have pronounced the death of a man, around 50 years old, who was struck by shrapnel while sitting in his vehicle," the Magen David Adom emergency service said in a statement.
The Israeli army confirmed that more than 100 missiles were launched against different parts of north Israel.
For its part, Hezbollah claimed to have targeted on Friday the Filon base in Rosh Pina, east of the occupied city of Safed. On Saturday, it targeted the Malakiyah settlement and a gathering of Israeli enemy soldiers in Jall al-Deir, northeast of Avivim settlement.
