Kylie Minogue reinvigorates Australian pop with the launch of her album Tension II, announcing an exciting tour for 2025 that will feature stops in Paris and Lyon.

Kylie Minogue, a true icon of the music world, invites her fans to immerse themselves in the rhythm of her latest creations, Tension II, while also announcing an exciting tour set for 2025, with stops in France, including Paris and Lyon. A year ago, Kylie left the French audience buzzing with her electrifying album Tension, featuring the hit Padam Padam, a nod to Edith Piaf that earned her a Grammy Award last February. Now, the 56-year-old singer continues her dance music exploration with Tension II, which she presents as an unexpected sequel during her visit to Paris.

Adrenaline, Excitement, and Nervousness

In an interview with AFP about the quick turnaround for this new release, Kylie Minogue admits she has never created a sequel so rapidly. She explains that this project was not initially planned, but during the making of Tension, an impressive number of songs were produced. Naturally, she decided to launch a new album. “I think Padam Padam opened many doors for me; songwriters and producers sent me songs. There was all this opportunity,” she adds.

As she prepares for her tour, which her label BMG describes as the most significant in 14 years, Kylie Minogue speaks of a mix of adrenaline, excitement, and nervousness. “I’m not sure I know the proportions,” she notes. After several years away from the stage, she expresses eagerness to reconnect with her audience through this new music.

To maintain her energy on stage, Kylie follows a rigorous discipline: “Once you’re in the zone, you stay fit, but it’s mainly about preserving my voice. I don’t go out; I don’t do anything. I’m really focused to the point of being boring,” she reveals.

Artistic Identity

After more than three decades in the industry marked by success, Kylie’s passion for music remains undiminished. “Music more than ever,” the singer emphasizes, noting that her understanding of music has evolved profoundly. “I understand what I can bring, how I can interpret songs. It’s so different to consider who I am today compared to who I was at 19,” she explains.

Regarding her musical direction toward electronic sounds, she asserts that she does not want to be confined to a single label. In her view, pop is constantly evolving and incorporating various styles. “A few years ago, I had an album that sounded like country pop (Golden in 2018). I don’t want to be boxed in. In my relationships, in my thinking, in my clothing,” she insists, highlighting that change is part of her artistic identity.

With Tension II, Kylie Minogue once again demonstrates that she is an artist in constant evolution, ready to reach new heights while staying true to her pop essence. The dance continues, and her fans are invited to join her on this new musical wave.
