At 94, legendary director Clint Eastwood releases Juror #2, a gripping thriller that could mark the end of his career. The film is set to release on October 30, just in time for the Oscars.

Clint Eastwood unveils the trailer of his 40th film Juror #2, which could be his last. At 94, the legendary American director returns with a gripping thriller that follows the story of a juror who discovers he is responsible for the murder he is supposed to judge. A moral dilemma ensues: should he protect his freedom or face the truth? Nicholas Hoult plays this tormented character, alongside Toni Collette, J. K. Simmons and Kiefer Sutherland.

This film might mark the end of an exceptional career, with persistent rumors that Clint Eastwood could retire from filmmaking after this project. Juror #2 will premiere at the closing of the American Film Institute (AFI) Film Festival on October 27, before its release in theaters on October 30, perfectly timed for the Oscar season.

The Million Dollar Baby director expressed his fascination with moral dilemmas: "This story raises questions about the fine line between right and wrong and pushes the viewer to make their own decision." Eastwood has always been drawn to complex narratives, and Juror #2 seems to follow in this tradition.

Some critics see similarities between the plot of Juror #2 and The Seventh Juror (1962), directed by Georges Lautner. However, it remains to be confirmed if Eastwood took inspiration from this French classic.

After the mixed success of Cry Macho, due to the pandemic, Clint Eastwood continues to be an essential figure in Hollywood, collecting prestigious awards like the Oscars and Césars throughout the decades. As the director prepares to celebrate his 95th birthday next May, Juror #2 might just be the final chapter of a remarkable filmmaking journey. If so, Clint Eastwood will leave behind a legacy with a film that lives up to his immense talent.
