After a coordination meeting with governors at the Grand Serail, caretaker Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi stated, "Given the challenges of displacement affecting all parts of Lebanon, it was imperative to convene this meeting to identify the issues and work towards resolving them."

Mawlawi stressed that "the allowances provided to the governors are operational in nature and do not pertain to relief efforts or cover costs for bedding, food, fuel, and other essentials."

He affirmed that "the government must address the needs of Lebanese residents who have not evacuated their villages in the south and Bekaa region." He mentioned that he had requested Prime Minister Najib Mikati to have the Higher Relief Committee procure fuel in preparation for the upcoming winter season.

He noted that "security forces are always present on the ground, and the governors play a significant role in maintaining order and security."

In response to safety questions regarding Beirut Rafic Hariri International airport, Mawlawi stated, "We will issue strict directives to the airport security apparatus to conduct thorough inspections to ensure no vulnerabilities exist and to mitigate any potential risks to the airport."
