Hector Hajjar, caretaker Minister of Social Affairs, announced on Friday that “a Chinese donation of one million US dollars will be disbursed to displaced people from seven districts in the south,” which is a contribution for about 10,000 families.
He added that “3 million dollars will be distributed in cash to the poorest families.” The minister emphasized that his ministry is working “within its capabilities, along with the crisis cell and international organizations, to respond to the needs of the displaced.”
Hajjar also revealed that some of the ministry’s centers were directly hit (by shelling) and that the ministry is working to meet the needs of the displaced in all regions.
