The Israeli army announced that the Arrow (or Hetz) air defense system intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen towards Tel Aviv and central Israel in the early hours of Friday.
Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, followed by explosions from the interception, with debris falling around the city. Seventeen Israelis were injured while seeking shelter, and Ben Gurion Airport was temporarily closed.
Ali Al-Qahoum, a member of the "Ansar Allah" political bureau, stated that "the worst is yet to come" in response to Israel's attacks on Gaza and Lebanon. He emphasized that Yemeni operations would continue in support of Gaza until the aggression and blockade end, warning of a wider regional conflict if the aggression persists.
Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi movement, added that the aggression against Lebanon is part of the broader conflict against Palestine.
