The dark comedy Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, featuring the whimsical antics of a ghoulish spirit, continues to dominate the North American box office for its third consecutive week. The film, a long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 cult classic, garnered $26 million over the weekend, affirming its popularity. Michael Keaton reprises his role as the zany bio-exorcist, joined by original cast members Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, along with fresh faces Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe, who add a new layer of intrigue to the beloved franchise.
Trailing just behind is the animated feature Transformers: The Beginning, which debuted to disappointing figures, securing only $25 million. Directed by Josh Cooley of Toy Story 4, the film delves into the origins of the Autobots but failed to meet initial projections of $30 million.
In third place, Speak No Evil, a psychological horror film from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, has taken in $5.9 million. The narrative follows a couple’s terrifying experience at a remote British farm, where their seemingly benevolent hosts turn out to be serial killers.
Never Let Go, a horror-thriller starring Halle Berry as a mother who must protect her twin sons from an evil force, secured the fourth spot with $4.5 million.
Rounding out the top five, the superhero comedy Deadpool & Wolverine continues to draw fans with its charismatic leads, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, earning $3.9 million.
Completing the top ten are The Substance, Am I Racist?, Reagan, Jung Kook: I Am Still and Alien: Romulus, each contributing to a diverse and vibrant cinematic landscape.
