Public sector contractual teachers have called on caretaker Minister of Education Abbas Halabi to reconsider a decision regarding the suspension of certain contracts.
In a statement released on Friday, they referred to a ministerial decision that would suspend the contracts of teachers working less than 10 hours per week at the primary level and less than 7 hours at the secondary level.
“We urge the minister to reconsider this decision, which would adversely affect a large number of contractual teachers, especially given the current difficult economic and social conditions,” the statement reads.
