Former Finance Minister and renowned economist and historian George Corm passed away on Wednesday at the age of 84.
He served as Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Salim Hoss from 1998 to 2000.
Corm studied at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (1958–1961), where he graduated in Public Finance and also has a PhD from Paris University in Constitutional Law (1969).
He authored books and numerous studies and articles on economic, social, and political affairs in Arab and international scholarly journals. His books have been translated into several languages.
He was also an economic consultant to international organizations and a professor at Saint Joseph University.
