Sound Barrier in Beirut and Ongoing Bombardments in the South
This afternoon, Beirut experienced a state of panic and fear due to repeated sonic booms by Israeli warplanes, just minutes before a speech by Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, who spoke on the occasion of the week of mourning for military commander Fouad Shukr.

Today's sonic boom over the capital and across the Lebanese territory was the loudest since the start of the war in the south. It was reported that Israeli fighter jets flying at low altitude dropped hot air balloons over Beirut southern suburbs (Dahyeh).

There have been renewed sonic booms from hostile warplanes over the capital Beirut in three waves, following an earlier breach of the capital's airspace less than 15 minutes prior. The Israeli warplanes broke the sound barrier over the capital and several other areas twice.

In recent field developments, an Israeli drone carried out an airstrike at 5:00 PM targeting the town of Aita al-Shaab with a guided missile. Moreover, the town of Kounin and Naqoura has been subjected to Israeli artillery shelling. Additionally, the municipality of Kfar Kila was destroyed in an Israeli airstrike. Phosphorus shells were fired on Hula causing a fire in the area.

Also, following the Israeli airstrike that targeted the outskirts of Odaisseh – Rab al-Thalathin, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health issued a statement announcing that “the initial toll of the airstrike is one dead and another injured person who was taken to the hospital by ambulance.” In a recent update, the death toll of the Israeli airstrike that targeted a house in Midoun has risen to five. A child born in 2011 was injured with moderate wounds in the town of Wazzani due to artillery shelling. Moreover, Israeli warplanes also carried out an airstrike on the town of Khiam with two missiles. Ambulance and civil defense teams have been dispatched to the location.

Hezbollah claimed an attack “In response to the attack and assassination carried out by the Israeli army in the town of Midoun” in the Kila barracks with dozens of Katyusha rockets. It also claimed an attack on Qarantina hill with artillery shells.

From the Israeli side, Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the number of injuries from the drone attack on the Nahariya area has risen to 19.  Moreover, the Israeli channel 12 reported that 6 Israeli soldiers were injured due to a drone launched from Lebanon falling in the Western Galilee.

The Israeli Finance Minister stated that “Israel should not respond to Nasrallah but should eliminate him.”
