Reports from various media outlets indicate that approximately 50 rockets were launched on Sunday from southern Lebanon, targeting Kiryat Shmona and Beit Hillel in northern Israel.
"We have added the new settlement of Beit Hillel to our list of targets and bombarded it for the first time with dozens of Katyusha rockets," Hezbollah said in a statement.
Sirens sounded across multiple areas in the Upper Galilee as a warning of incoming rocket fires.
"The shelling of Beit Hillel is in retaliation for the attacks on our villages of Kfar Kila and Deir Seryan, which injured civilians," the statement read.
The pro-Iranian group also claimed responsibility for an attack on the Malikya and Manara positions.
These developments come amid global anticipation of a military response from Iran and Hezbollah following Israel's assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, in Tehran on Wednesday and its claimed responsibility for the assassination of senior Hezbollah leader Fouad Shokr in Beirut on Tuesday evening.
