79th Army Day, J. Aoun Affirms Army’s Commitment to Maintaining Security
On the 79th anniversary of Lebanese Army Day, Army Commander General Joseph Aoun reaffirmed the army’s steadfast commitment to achieving a permanent ceasefire under Resolution 1701, in coordination with UNIFIL. He also reaffirmed the army’s commitment to maintaining security and control at all border areas, “unmindful of negative campaigns targeting the military institution”.

In his speech on Tuesday, General J. Aoun praised the soldiers for their unwavering dedication:

“Seventy-nine years of honor, sacrifice, and loyalty to our homeland, struck by the winds of challenges and crises. Lebanon will remain resilient thanks to its army.”

He commended the soldiers for their heroic deeds in facing various threats, from Israel to terrorism, and for maintaining security despite the country’s severe political, financial, and social issues.

General Aoun also called on soldiers to remain committed to their homeland, emphasizing that the soldiers’ sacrifices “strengthen the confidence of the Lebanese in their homeland and contribute to the return of expatriates,” emphasizing that their presence “guarantees Lebanon’s survival.”

“Stick to your motto, the motto of honor, sacrifice and loyalty. Stay steadfast in your institution,” added the Commander-in-Chief, asking soldiers not to lose hope in their country.
