Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Al-Bukhari, was quoted as telling his visitors that “Saudi Arabia is not pulling out of the Lebanese arena and has not withdrawn from Lebanon as some like to propagate.”
He revealed that 22 development projects have been already discussed with Lebanese officials and relevant ministers at the Lebanese-Saudi Council meeting that was held in Riyadh over ten years ago.
These projects are ready for execution, Bukhari said, noting that Lebanon has not taken any implementing measures following their approval. Riyadh has reminded Lebanese officials of the existence of this basket of development projects on more than one occasion, but each time Lebanon's response has been one of procrastination.
