King Abdullah II has issued a royal decree to dissolve Jordan's parliament on Thursday, Jordanian media reports.
A royal decree has been issued to dissolve the Chamber of Deputies, effective today, Thursday, July 25, 2024, according to the Petra Agency.
“I, Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, pursuant to paragraph 3 of Article 34 of the Constitution, issue my will as follows: the Chamber of Deputies is dissolved as of Thursday, July 25, 2024.”
The Jordanian Electoral Commission has set polling for September 10.
