Russia's Interior Ministry stated that two people were injured in a blast caused by an unidentified device.
Russian media reports that shortly after the officer and an unidentified woman got into the car in a Moscow parking lot, an explosion erupted from the vehicle.
Kommersant, a leading Russian newpaper, has said that the injured man served in what is commonly referred to as the GRU - the Russian military's main intelligence unit.
Russia state news channel, TASS, reported that a security official and his wife were caught in the explosion, with the official losing both feet in the attack.
