Crowdstrike has stated that a "fix" has been deployed for the bug that caused the global IT outage.
The American multinational Microsoft announced a global outage on Friday affecting businesses and users worldwide.
The global technical outage caused significant disruptions on Friday morning, affecting various sectors around the globe, including banks, media, and airlines.
Berlin International Airport is completely blocked, leading to the suspension of air services, according to a spokesperson for the airport. In the US, major airlines including United and Delta are stopping flights.
Amsterdam's Schipol Airport as well as Spain's airports have been affected. Specific airlines such as Ireland's Ryanair and some airlines in Hong Kong have also suffered.
In France, various media outlets such as TF1 and CNEWS are reporting widespread IT issues. France's cybersecurity agency has claimed that there is no evidence as of yet to suggest a cyberattack. Furthermore, these disruptions also affect the London Stock Exchange information service.
The massive outage is reportedly not due to a cyberattack, but to an update of the pro CrowdStrike antivirus developed on computers using the Microsoft system. In a statement, Microsoft said an investigation is underway.
