“Around 14,000 people arrive daily at the Beirut International Airport (BIA), with 85 to 90 aircraft landing every day,” revealed Jean Abboud, head of the travel and tourism offices syndicate, on Monday.
He assured that the 2024 summer season is shaping up to surpass last year’s. He mentioned that “the aircraft occupancy rate is over 96%,” and airlines have introduced additional flights to meet the growing demand.
Abboud also noted that “bookings in July and August are still increasing, especially since these two months are the peak of the summer season.” He affirmed that June’s results were positive, with a high number of arrivals close to the levels recorded last year.
He assured that if the truce in the region holds, the 2024 summer season will be better than 2023.
Abboud highlighted that Arab tourists make up around 25% of total arrivals, primarily Jordanians, Iraqis and Egyptians.
