1300 Industrial Licenses in Three Years
Over the past three years, 1,300 industrial licenses have been granted in all sectors in Lebanon.

This was stated on Monday by caretaker Minister of Industry George Bouchikian, who assured that the Lebanese industry is doing well, and that today, the industry sector represents 37 to 41% of the gross domestic product (GDP).

Bouchikian believes that industry has become the most important catalyst for the development of the Lebanese economy, and that this is reflected in the figures, with exports rising from two billion to four billion dollars. Regarding export problems linked to the Red Sea crisis, the Minister assures that “they have been overcome.”

In a press release, he reported an increase in industrial investment, particularly in pharmaceuticals, revealing that there is “a trend to attract promising foreign investment in many sectors in Lebanon.” He also mentioned ongoing projects with European countries to create a kind of production partnership.

He noted that three additional sectors had been created in Lebanon: recycling, programming and film production, raising the number of sectors from 21 to 24.
