The Lebanese national basketball team faced the Bahamas in the Olympic Games qualifiers on Saturday. Unfortunately, Lebanon was defeated by a score of 89-72.

It must be said that luck was not on Lebanon's side, as they were placed in a very tough group with Spain, Angola, and the Bahamas. Moreover, the Cedars' game was undoubtedly affected by the absence of head coach Miodrag Perisic, who returned to Serbia for unknown reasons. Assistant coach Marko Filipovic replaced him on the court and did his best.

Filipovic fielded the same players who started Lebanon's last game against Angola: Omari Spellman, Sergio Darwish, Ali Haidar, Youssef Khayat, and Ali Mezher.

On their side, the Bahamas have several stars in their ranks, such as Buddy Hield, DeAndre Ayton, and Eric Gordon, who all play significant roles in their respective NBA teams.

Throughout the match, Lebanon managed to stay close to their opponents, showing great resilience all over the court. But the Lebanese could not ultimately contain the repeated attacks from the Bahamas, who eventually made their shots in the final minutes of the match to seal the victory.

The match and Lebanon's Olympic hopes unfortunately vanished with this defeat, even though Lebanon put up an honorable performance throughout these qualifiers.
