“Fateh” security executive, Yassine Akl, was killed on Monday in Ain el-Hilweh camp, eyewitness sources told This is Beirut.
Circumstances of the murder haven’t yet been determined, as he is believed to have been killed by Islamists.
“Fateh” movement is currently on alert, in the Tira neighborhood of the camp, with residents displaced in anticipation of any development which might occur.
Last summer, Ain el-Hilweh had witnessed bloody clashes between Islamist groups close to Iran and “Fateh”, led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
