Kiera Knightley will be starring in The Woman in Cabin 10, directed by Simon Stone and based on the psychological thriller novel written by Ruth Ware.
Netflix disclosed on May 15 that Keira Knightley, a distinguished English actress famed for her performances in both high-budget blockbusters and independent films, will feature in the forthcoming cinematic rendition of Ruth Ware's 2017 bestseller The Woman in Cabin 10. The adaptation will be helmed by Simon Stone, known for directing the 2021 film The Dig, which starred Carey Mulligan. Notably, in 2022, a previous adaptation of Ware's novel was released, featuring Kristen Stewart as the protagonist, Lo Blacklock.

The Woman in Cabin 10, a novel penned by Ruth Ware, achieved status as a New York Times bestseller following its publication in 2016. The narrative centers on Lo Blacklock, a travel journalist who embarks on a week-long voyage on the Aurora, an elite luxury liner. The plot unfolds dramatically when, on the initial night, Lo perceives a woman resembling another passenger outside her cabin. Her subsequent investigation leads to the chilling realization that the woman has disappeared, propelling a suspense-laden whodunit adorned with unexpected twists and a palpable sense of claustrophobia.
Kiera Knightley, aged 39, is celebrated for her adaptability in a variety of film genres, from historical sagas such as Pride & Prejudice to the action-adventure series Pirates of the Caribbean. Her capacity to portray deep emotional states through subtle and nuanced performances, coupled with her expertise in period dramas, has garnered her numerous accolades, including nominations for the Academy Awards, BAFTA, and Golden Globes.
The Woman in Cabin 10 is described by its publisher, Simon & Schuster, as a "claustrophobic" thriller brimming with "surprising twists" and "spine-tingling turns." This adaptation promises to leverage Kiera Knightley's theatrical prowess to captivate audiences with its sophisticated characters and tightly wound plot.
