- South Lebanon: Israel Kills Key Hezbollah Figure in Tyre
Hussein Makki, a prominent Hezbollah leader, was killed in a targeted Israeli drone strike on his car in the city of Tyre in South Lebanon, along with two of his companions.
Israeli sources indicated that Makki had close ties to Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a high-ranking officer in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards who was killed in Damascus on April 1.
Known as one of Hezbollah’s key leaders, Makki was often called Hezbollah’s “major databank” or Hassan Nasrallah’s “right-hand man” in Syria.
The pro-Iranian group confirmed Makki’s death in a statement, noting that he hailed from the village of Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.
