Michel Chidiac's ‘Jardin Stellaire’ at Cheriff Tabet

Artist Michel Chidiac presents Jardin Stellaire at the Cheriff Tabet Gallery until May 24, 2024. This dreamlike exhibition of oils, watercolors and pastels, inspired by Kandinsky, invites viewers into a cosmic escape.
Michel Chidiac, an interior designer and painter, welcomes us to the Cheriff Tabet Gallery from May 7 to May 24, 2024, to explore his Jardin Stellaire, an escape to the edges of the earth. He immediately transports us to a universe reminiscent of Kandinsky's – ethereal and dreamlike, conducive to contemplation.
Indeed, the artist's brush caresses the canvas, leaving a satiny, radiantly sensual imprint. The mediums used – oil, watercolor and pastel – thanks to their characteristic play of transparency, help spread a soft, tender light across all the works.
The voluptuous and rounded lines of circles, arcs and semicircles marry the more angular ones of verticals or horizontals, of square or triangular planes. The interaction of shapes and primary colors – yellow, red and blue – creates an almost erotic tension that energizes the space, like an electric field seeming to traverse the canvas.

This strange alchemy helps create an enchanted world, a festive atmosphere that bursts into a joyful symphony of vibrant and colorful notes. The artist thus invites the viewer to dive into a kind of cosmic abstraction, to float weightlessly in an interstellar void, to soak in harmony and gentleness. He encourages us to join a place of elevation and fulfillment far from everyday worries.
The artist's unconscious imagination is projected onto the canvas for an invitation to travel beyond the limits of space and time. In his poetic reverie, he propels us toward an elsewhere populated with improbable stars lost amid strange galaxies. This inner silence fosters a moment of grace, a conducive moment that allows one to draw deeply from within to find inspiration. A meeting with oneself to awaken the creative impulse and, through the artistic process, poetically inhabit the world.
Come experience this meditative immersion in a cocoon of childhood and carefreeness, the experience of soaring in a light, luminous bubble to reinvent everything.
