Khalil: '2025 Budget Is on Schedule'
Caretaker Finance Minister Youssef Khalil affirmed on Tuesday that his Ministry is committed to submitting the 2025 budget within the timeframe stipulated by the Constitution.

In a statement, he urged all public bodies, councils, institutions and funds benefiting from financial contributions included in the budget, to submit their draft budgets to the Ministry by the end of May, in addition to the required supporting documents, statistics and records relating to expenditure and income.

He reiterated that “the 2025 budget must not be burdened by additional charges that could be eliminated or postponed, so as not to create financing requirements that exceed the treasury’s capacity.”

In addition, Khalil stated that “this requires the implementation of austerity measures while advancing reform steps and completing what was initiated in the 2024 budget.”

Finally, he insisted on “the role of departments and public establishments in planning and contributing to the preparation of a realistic budget project that takes into account financing capacities."
