Hamiye: GPS Jamming Jeopardizes Lebanese Airspace
Caretaker Public Works Minister Ali Hamiye raised the alarm on Wednesday about GPS signal jamming, which is putting civil aviation at risk.

Speaking at the meeting of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Hamiye pointed out that “the jamming is carried out by the Israeli Army continuously, and it constitutes a great danger.”

“As a member, Lebanon considers ICAO as its first reference in all standards and measures that should be implemented regarding airspace safety,” he continued.

He also recalled that “strengthening and developing cooperation, particularly over the last two years, is part of Lebanon’s ongoing commitment to take into account the standards established as approved norms for the civil aviation sector."
