The Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced on Wednesday the arrest of three suspects involved in the murder of Yasser al-Koukash in Azzouniyeh, Aley district. The suspects are reportedly Syrian nationals.
To recall, Koukash was killed on Tuesday after three assailants “tied him up and robbed his apartment.”
This is not an isolated incident. Army intelligence services arrested on Monday, April 1, three Syrians involved in the murder of a 70-year-old man, N. Turk, in his house in Sioufi, Achrafieh.
A week later, nine Syrian nationals were detained on April 9 for the murder of Lebanese Forces Coordinator in Jbeil, Pascal Sleiman, in a car theft attempt.
The series of security incidents has angered residents, some of whom began attacking displaced Syrians and forcing them to leave.
