The Israeli military says that they have completed a days-long operation in the Hamad neighborhood in southern Gaza’s Khan Younes.

It added that the operation was carried out in cooperation with the internal security agency Shin Bet, leading to the arrest of 300 Palestinian fighters and the deaths of dozens more.

It also released footage of its forces blowing up the entrance to one of the buildings in the Qatar-funded neighborhood, along with a map that showed the more than three dozen high-rise residential buildings that have been raided.

The neighborhood has also been extensively bombed since the start of Israel’s assault on Gaza.

The Israeli army stated that it destroyed a rocket launch platform in Deir al-Balah that was used to shell Ashdod today before the United Nations Security Council ceasefire resolution was passed.

Despite the adoption of a resolution by the UNSC calling for an immediate ceasefire, military operations by the Israeli army persist in the Gaza Strip. This resolution, which is supposed to put an end to hostilities, seems to be encountering challenges on the ground, as clashes seem to be continuing.

After more than five months of war, the UN Security Council for the first time Monday demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza after the United States, Israel's ally which vetoed previous drafts, abstained from voting.

The resolution calls for the truce to lead to a "lasting, sustainable ceasefire" and demands that Hamas and other militants free hostages seized in their October 7 attack that triggered the massive Israeli military campaign.
