Ghada Aoun Should Appear Before the Disciplinary Council on Friday
The General Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, who was removed from her duties in May 2023 by the judiciary's Disciplinary Council for a string of misconduct and abuses she had committed in the course of her duties, is set to appear before this Council on Friday.

The focus of the hearing is the appeal Aoun filed when she refused to abide by the decision of the Disciplinary Council, which was presided over at the time by Judge Jamal Hajjar, currently serving as the interim Attorney General of the Republic.

Among the numerous infractions that led to Ghada Aoun's removal from the judiciary were her arbitrary statements and media campaigns, her criticisms of colleagues who disapproved of her unprofessional conduct and her refusal to comply with orders from the Supreme Judicial Council.

The hearing will be chaired by Judge Souheil Abboud, President of the Higher Judiciary Council (HJC), and will be attended by magistrates Habib Mezher, Mireille Haddad, Dany Chebli and Afif Hakim.
