Silver Medal for Lebanon at the Arab Cross-Country Championships
The Lebanese women's track and field team won the silver medal at the 26th Arab Cross-Country Championships, held at the Al-Basharat Club in Amman, Jordan, with the participation of nine Arab countries.

The Cedar women's national team came second (team event) behind Morocco, while Jordan took third place (10 km distance). The composition of the Lebanese women's team was as follows: Joan Makary 40:02.6 min, Nada Al-Kurdi 41:51.7 min, Karen Chreim 43:07.1 min, Loaa Zaarour 43:59.1 min, Jennifer Tommaso 44:33.0 min and Serena Al-Hayek 44:53.9 min.


On the men's side, the team finished fourth (team) behind Morocco, Jordan and Kuwait (10 km distance). The Lebanese men's team was made up of: Jad Shmysani 35:58.0 min, Charbel Bou Sejaan 36:06.4 min, Ali Mortada 36:21.7 min and Saleh Zaiter 38:06.6 min. In the youth category (6 km distance), player Mahmoud Abou Zeid came sixteenth (individual) with a time of 20.48.7 min.
