Mawlawi From Tunisia: Lebanon Doesn’t Want War
“Lebanon is a country dedicated to its stability; it doesn’t want war. The Lebanese people rely on security forces to establish and maintain security,” said caretaker Minister of the Interior Bassam Mawlawi during the 41st session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, held in Tunisia on Monday.

In his speech to the Council, Mawlawi affirmed Lebanon’s commitment “to Arab and international legitimacy,” emphasizing the need to ensure “joint Arab security.”

“The strengthening of the state and security forces in Lebanon is essential to reinforce stability,” he persisted, assuring that Lebanon would never be a platform for hostile acts against Arab countries.

To conclude, Mawlawi highlighted Lebanon’s willingness to establish “security cooperation and economic integration” so that the country “could once again export its products to Arab countries and the Gulf.”
