Caretaker Minister of Industry, George Bouchikian, announced at a press conference on Friday that the "Made in Lebanon" exhibition will be held from May 9 to 14 at the Forum de Beyrouth. Sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and the Industrialists' Association, it will occupy 12,000 m² and feature 250 stands.
In a speech, Bouchikian revealed that "the work" is carried out within the framework of an effective and efficient partnership between the public and private sectors and governmental and non-governmental organizations. These include the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), organizations affiliated with the Arab League, such as the Economic and Social Council and the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization, in addition to non-governmental organizations.
He recalled that "Made in Lebanon" products have distinguished themselves over the past three years at Arab, European, and international exhibitions. The diversity of Lebanese production has left a mark on quality: from food products to software, alcoholic beverages, ready-to-wear, jewelry, design, furnishings, services, and technology.
He emphasized the importance of industry and its role, launching a new slogan: "Lebanon's pulse is its industry." He said, "We see Lebanon's industrial heart beating with vitality, renewal, production, invention, and modernity. The relatively high cost could prevent industrialists from taking part in foreign exhibitions. So, holding the exhibition in Lebanon will encourage many to participate, and offer them opportunities to establish partnerships and exchange knowledge and experience."
He called on manufacturers, players, and stakeholders to ensure the success of the exhibition through the widest possible participation.
