In a recent interview with This Is Lebanon News, caretaker Minister of Information Ziad Makari reiterated his staunch opposition to the financial reorganization and bank restructuring draft law that was invalidated by the State Council.
Makari emphasized that he is "against writing off depositors' money" and that he did not "justify the draft law."
Regarding his participation in the Cabinet session on Thursday, Makari clarified that he "will not participate due to it overlapping with a conference in Istanbul," where he is set to represent Lebanon.
He also pointed out that the problem lies in the fact that the caretaker government's tenure spans only two months, not two years, and it is now being pushed "to make decisions beyond the caretaker government."
