Year-on-year traffic at Beirut International Airport (BIA) declined by 8.49% in January, according to figures released by BIA. A total of 450,989 passengers, arrivals and departures combined, recorded an 8.49% decrease compared to January 2023.
The number of arrivals in Lebanon dropped by 5.17%, totaling 201,269 passengers. Departures from Lebanon also decreased by 10.87% (249,684 passengers), and transit passengers experienced a significant 92% decline (36 passengers).
Similarly, the number of flights by domestic, Arab and foreign airlines using the airport in January fell by 14.29% compared to January 2023, totaling 3,848 flights. Among these, 1,923 arrived in Beirut (-14.38%), and 1,925 departed from Lebanon (-14.21%).
